Lisa Karlin Lisa began dancing and singing with Miller Marley in her early grade school years. Besides spending countless hours in class, throughout middle school and high school she enjoyed performing in multiple community theatres including Starlight Theatre and Shawnee Mission Theatre in the Park. Lisa received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University and after graduation moved to New York. Lisa has worked extensively in regional theatres throughout the country. She traveled throughout the western hemisphere for a year with the 25th Anniversary National Tour of “CATS” in the role of Demeter and understudy for Grizabella. She also performed this role at The MUNY in St. Louis and Sacramento Music Circus. Her Regional theatre credits include: Eva Peron in “Evita” at the Arvada Center in Denver, Velma Kelly in “Chicago”; Amneris in “Aida”, Joanna in “Sunset Boulevard, Henrietta in “All Shook Up”, plus many more. Lisa received her Broadway debut with the 2009 revival of “Ragtime” as the understudy for Emma Goldman. She currently is on Broadway with “The Addams Family” as an Ancestor in the ensemble and understudy for the role of Wednesday Addams. Lisa credits Shirley, Brian, Kristi, and all her teachers at Miller Marley for not only giving her solid technique but also for nurturing the young artist inside of her. |
