Hayley Podschun Broadway credits: Sound of Music (Louisa/Brigitta understudy) Hayley started her training at the age of four with Miller-Marley. Throughout her fourteen years at the studio, Hayley involved herself in The Entertainers, Youth Ballet, Competition Team, and Mini-Tainers. Her training was supplemented with summer intensives at ABT, North Carolina School of the Arts and NYU. In 1999, she was cast in the Broadway production of The Sound of Music as the Louisa / Brigitta Understudy. After graduating Blue Valley High School, Hayley trained for one year at The Boston Conservatory as a Music Theatre major. Immediately after her freshman year, she cast in the First National Tour of the Tony Award winning musical Hairspray as Tammy u/s Penny Pingleton, Amber Von Tussle. Towards the end of tour she was bumped up to Penny Pingleton full time and received wonderful reviews. Two weeks after the tour closed, Hayley packed her bags to go to Toronto to start filming the 2007 Summer smash hit Hairspray ; once again, playing Tammy. She is now on Broadway in Hairspray , alongside fellow Miller-Marley/Kansas native Shannon During, playing Tammy (u/s Penny, Amber) to packed houses every night. Hayley was also featured as the cover girl for Dance Spirit 's 2007 July/August Issue as the #1 Broadway Talent to look out for. She thanks Miller-Marley and her parents for all of their support to help her get to where she is today.
