Tara Glaus grew up in Arizona, where she danced with Ballet Arts, Limelight Productions Inc. as well as Danswest Dance Academy. She participated in the AZ jazz dance showcases, Joe Tremaine and Gus Giordano intensives, Ballet Arts Summer Workshops and attended Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, where she attended many summer intensives and majored in musical theater during the school year. Some of her most influential instructors and choreographers throughout the years were Susan Quinn Williams, Mary Beth Cabana, Galina Panova, Timour Bourtasinkov, Tommi Galaska, and John Dixon. She attended East Carolina University, where she graduated with a psychology degree in 2009 and received a second degree in dance performance in 2011. Her choreography was recognized and chosen for numerous shows at East Carolina University, including the yearly contemporary concert and a student showcase called "Lights Up." Her senior choreography piece was also chosen to be shown at ACDFA in 2011, as well as picked to be performed for "A Modern Night at the Folly 2011" in Kansas City. She has taught dance at various studios in Arizona as well as North Carolina, teaching ballet, pointe, modern and jazz. She is also a company member of PVAC, a visual arts company based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she models pointe shoes and aids in creating a new visual artform based upon the dancers feet. |
