Megan Shoare

Megan Shoare began her formal ballet training at the Kansas City Ballet School, where she danced as a student apprentice with the company and performed in both The Nutcracker and Giselle. She completed summer programs at Jillana, the School of American Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet, and studied at the summer intensive programs for both Miami City Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet on full scholarship. After high school she danced in Pacific Northwest Ballet’s professional division, performing with the company in The Nutcracker. The following year she studied on full scholarship at the San Francisco Ballet School, and performed with the company in both The Nutcracker and Swan Lake. She then spent a year with The Washington Ballet’s studio company, where she performed roles in The Nutcracker, Carmina Burana, and the premieres of The Little Prince and Matthew Neenan’s “Quick Bright Things.” After her career in the ballet world, she received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, where she graduated with honors in education and dramatic arts.
